Thanks to Tias for sharing this link I overlooked

There is a list of keywords here in case you want to check it out www.etsy.com/search-ads/keywords

"Search Ad Keyword Pricing

Each keyword available for purchase in Search Ads on Etsy has a slightly different cost per impression. Etsy’s search technology sets keyword prices based on historical search data. Search data is evaluated periodically and keyword prices are reset. For some keywords, where seasonality and trends matter, there may be a variance in price over time."

Hello,

An impression is a single display of your ad. Your item does not have to be clicked on to count as an impression. It is not the same as a “view”.

Search Ads are priced by number of impressions. This number changes depending on the keyword. While the average price of a keyword is $1 for 1,000 impressions, some keywords cost more and some cost less.

The list of keywords and their prices can be found here:

www.etsy.com/search-ads/keywords

The prices of keywords are determined on the basis of historical search data. The more popular a search (taking into account trends or seasonality that might affect the keyword), the more expensive that keyword will be.

This blog entry contains an image of how Search Ads will appear:

We’ll continue to address your questions as they come up.

Thanks!

Hello,

OhFara asked:

Some of my top keyword *phrases ARE on the etsy keyword list, but some phrases are not, however, those words are listed separately, just not as phrases.

If someone searches with three words not listed as a phrase on etsy's list, how will that be used?

Will those three separate words (used as a search) still bring up my items if those three words are separately listed on my ad campaign?

And if so, will I be charged for all three words per/1K impressions - separately?

And dandyapple said:

Someone sees your ad by searching a two word phrase. But you have them as two separate keywords. Do you get charged the searcher's phrase price or on the combination of the two single keywords that you have chosen to place in the ad.

==========

You will not be charged twice, as one search result counts as one impression. You are charged by impressions, not by how many of your keywords appear in the search terms. So your ad may appear if a keyword is part of a larger search phrase, but you will only be charged for one impression.

Hope that helps!

$2.50 per 1000 impressions for something like "rose quartz" ? Are you serious?! That is so misleading...

I'm confused, is this saying that instead of the 5000 impressions for $5 Etsy is promising, we actually get a lot less *for example* "rose quartz"? So for that word, we would get 2000 impressions for $5?? That's no good...

Does anyone know what an ad would look like on a search page? There is no information given on that.
