Shipping issues

When shipping an order priority, I encountered a problem. I was shipping a 1.5 lb package from the Pennsylvania to Portland oregan. I entered priority into the etsy shipping label and it came up as 39.00. I thought that was insanely high, so I tried expresss, came up at 30.00. Realized something must be wrong so I went to PayPal, entered info and got the same result. 39.00 for priority. So I took it to the post office and it was about 10.00 for priority.

Anyone know what could be the problem?

Could you share the ID# of the order you were purchasing shipping for? I'd be happy to look into this.

Awesome! Thanks do much. I ended up purchasing the express label because it was cheaper, but the post office said it should have been about 10.00.

Ok, so happened again today. This time: 27.00 to ship 1.5 lb package to Colorado from pa. Anyone looking into this for me? Thanks!

Katie are you typing in "1.5" pounds? Or rounding up to the next even pound, "2.0"??

The rates you mention look suspiciously like you were getting 15.0 pound Priority rates, not 2.0 pound rates. (Domestic Priority is always rounded to even pounds.)

Yes, I put in 1.5 lbs so a 1 in the pound box and 8 in ounces. I mailed 16 packages today, this was the only one that had a problem. Same packaging to ca was $9.60. It is so weird, but also costs me time and money and I would love to find out what the problem is.

Could it be a package size issue ? A 16 x 10 x 16 box weighing 1.5 lbs to 77815 zip from me is 25.90 if you purchase online , 29.00 at the PO .
