Sign out is not accessable for all mobile & touch PC devices

Just a quick "heads up" to a problem for non-supported mobile users & touch PC users.

I'm a Windows Phone user and the Sign Out option is no longer accessible on my mobile phone - I can no longer log out to switch accounts!

This may breech web-based usability requirements for special-needs people.

Thanks for reporting your issues here, guys! We're working with our engineers to iron this out.

There are two views you can choose between when using Etsy from a mobile browser. You can use the mobile optimized view (which formats the site to suit a smaller screen) and the standard view (which will display the site it's formatted on a desktop).

If you're viewing in mobile optimized format you should see the Sign Out link at the bottom of your page.

If you're using the site in standard view on a mobile device you should still see the Sign Out link at the top right of the page. On the desktop version of the site we have tucked the Sign Out link within the Your Account menu, but on a mobile browser in standard view you should still see the Sign Out link in the top right of the page.

If you are viewing the site on a mobile browser in standard view and do not see this Sign Out link could you send us a bit of information?

* a screenshot of what appears where you should see the sign out link
* what kind of device you are using
* what operating system your device is running on
* what mobile browser you're using.

You can send us this information here: www.etsy.com/help/contact

For help on taking a screenshot see here: www.take-a-screenshot.org/

Put ATTN: LISA in the subject line and we'll take a look directly.

We just pushed a fix. If you're using a mobile device in standard view you should see a link to sign out in the top right of every page.

If you're viewing a mobile optimized page you should see the link to sign out at the bottom of the page.

You can switch between mobile optimized and standard view at any time at the very bottom of any page that has been optimized for mobile.

If you find any deviations from this behavior definitely let us know. Thanks!

JBPacrat, for users on a desktop computer, the sign out button has been moved under the "Your Account" menu.

For users on a tablet, like the ipad were access that menu is difficult because there is no mouse to hover over the link, we've added a separate link to sign out.

Graeme wasn't seeing this link because he was on a device we weren't considering a touch screen device. A recent change should have fixed things for him.

The sign out link is likely to remain under the "Your Account" menu from now on, but if you feel like there is an issue accessing sign out on a non-desktop, non-ipad device, please let me know and I'll take a look.

They've probably just hidden it like they did earlier in a couple of my shops. Mine is under the 'your account' tab now. It's ridiculous to have to go on the hunt to figure out how the heck to sign out!!!!!!!
Yes it is and that is the problem that I am highlighting - some devices / users are unable to access it.
Not all devices support "pull down" options, so they can't access it.

Hey Graeme

Thanks for bringing this to our attention can you let us know the exact device you are using. If you can include your operating system and the mobile browser that is installed that would be extremely helpful.

Thank You
I have a Nokia Lumina 800 - WP7.5 ( www.nokia.com/au-en/products/phone/lumia800 ) - currently I have no way of logging out.

The same would apply to a Touch WinRT device like Microsoft Surface ( www.microsoft.com/Surface )
I am having the same problem on my pc. The sign out button has disappeared and I usually use this a lot to go back and forward between my three shops.
leeski--hover the mouse over "Your Account" at the top of the page--you should find the hidden log out link there with your PC just fine.

Personally I never understood hiding the sign out--very frustrating, especially for new folks.
How to sign out [the new method....] NOTE: does not address Graeme's point that is being raised!

Hover your mouse pointer over the words 'your account' in upper right of page:

Hi, xxxxxxxxxx. Your Shop Your Account Help

where xxxxx is your display name.

=============================
It seems the experiment that has been running for some months, where the sign out location is moved from the far right of header (original location) {where your name, your shop, your account and help are located} to a location in the drop down menu under 'your account' is being made permanent.

The drop down under 'Your Account' will look like this:

Purchases
Feedback
Public Profile
Settings
Apps
Sign Out

NOTE: you can also place the following on your browser toolbar for one click logout:

Please, the sign out location as before, visible not hidden.
with chrome browser it is not visible
