I dont know if its just me, but I am very wary about the possibility of purchasing edible item, Soap, or Bath products on etsy because i just dont think its safe to purchase this stuff online. Who knows what they could put in it, you know? Whats everyone elses opinion on this?

How do you feel about buying edible items on etsy?

Starting a thread with " I don't feel right buying_____ never goes well.
How would you feel if I started a thread "real feathers are gross....would you buy them?"
Negative threads never end well.
Starting a thread such as " I just bought the best cookies on Etsy, have you ever bought food on Etsy?" would have been a better approach.

I have purchased candy more than once from the same seller.
They had good feedback and candy was wrapped professional and was delicious.
I purchased cookies from another seller and they was also packaged professional.
So far no problems.
If seller has a large feedback then I would not hesitate to purchase from them.
I make my own soap but have bought it locally at craft shows.

If they are properly licensed then it's no more risky than eating at a new restaurant or buying a food product in the grocery store.
Food sellers have a tough go ... the honest ones who are licensed and obey laws (like not shipping food products internationally without being properly certified) have their businesses painted with the same brush as the fly-by-night, unlicensed sellers who thumb their nose at food safety laws.

I think I'm more worried about things like cleanliness of someone's kitchen when I order food for takeout or in a restaurant :) Seen enough nightmarish restaurant kitchen shows :D
And I think if someone has gone through allll the effort to make an Etsy shop to sell edibles, take beautiful pictures and advertise themselves, they can't be so lazy they don't clean their kitchen :)

Again I would like to say im sorry. I truly did not mean to offend anyone and i didnt mean for my post to be negitive. I was just asking for opinions from buyers and sellers of theese products for information on why I should purchase or not purchase them. I did not say i would never buy them, all i wanted was a little info. I also understand that there are actually people who wont purchase real feather jewelry because of animal rights/cruelty/allergic reactions/etc (All of my feathers are cruelty free though). I am not offendend if someone says they wont buy from my shop, but if someone did say they wouldnt i would want to try to explain to them the benefits of buying them, instead of just saying "You started another bashing thread". I wasnt trying to hurt anyones feels or affend anyone. I hope you all will not hold this against me or anything.
Again I am extremely sorry.
