How many views does it REALLY take to get a sale and other cool stuff!

A question so I see asked so often in the forums.

Realistically it only takes ONE view to get a sale... from the right buyer.

But we all know that doesn't always happen! One tool that I've found to be very useful is the 'shop value calculator' at
shopvaluecalculator.com/

It will tell you all sorts of things such as how many views it takes to get a sale, the average number of times your items have been marked as favourites, etc.

Take it for a spin and you might be surprised at what you find!
What do the numbers tell you?

Interesting tool.

It tells me my shop has 1 sale every 69 views, but it's more like every 2000 views.

It also tells me 1 sale every 4 days. I wish that were the case. lol

And my shop was valued at $2.31. lol
That's weird, Amelia. I thought the shop value thing was supposed to be the price of all your listings added together. I think the period in that number is a comma as Americans use to mark place. Other countries use a period. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

It says I get 1 sale per 64 views, and average a sale every 4 days. My shop value is "2.501 USD" which I assume means $2,501.
it tells me they calculate the views per sale over the life of the shop, which can be very anomalous.

It also gives me a completely different average item price than www.etsyhacks.com/shop_value/
which I have come to trust b/c I actually checked it & added everything up once.
I have just started my store a week ago.
That site says my ration is 1 sale per 105 views, and sale every 5 days.
Looks like someone else has been looking for the value of my shop.... Says it was last valued a couple of weeks ago. Doesn't really bother me as its a lot of info you could work out for yourself, but still feels a bit odd.

I've never quite worked out what the shop value bit is. I'm pretty sure it's not stock value, so is it market value? Amelia, I think maybe yours is $231 as the dot . is used in the same way as a comma , is used in longer numbers in many countries.

The period is called a full stop in the uk, which is why I was calling it a dot. There's something about calling it a period, I don't like it lol

Anyway, I don't think it can be as I have more stock in my shop than last month, but since whoever did it last, my shop worth has dropped by £10,000 (that's British pounds, about $15,000 ish) probably because my views and sales have been on the low side since then.
Yikes... in my shop it takes 445 views for someone to buy something... wow that's sad... kinda wish I hadn't seen that page now.

Sales / Views Ratio: 1 to 445. This means 1 Sale every 445 views
Great site with great info! Thanks Crochetgal!

@Janine: Yes I think some of the periods and commas are mixed. I loked at the age of my shop and it says "Shop created on 2007-03-08. That´s 1.946 days ago."
thanks for posting that link again i was looking for that , creepy thing i was last checked out on the 7th of July, i feel stalked . LOL
