Can I list as a set and separate?

I am going to make a couple items that can be purchased separately or in a set. If I get a sale for a set and separates I will make extra of whichever product. Just for picture purposes I would be using the same product to show it separately and in the set.

Is this allowed since all orders would be filled (if I get orders)?

I don't see why not. I've though of doing the same thing. So I say go for it.

Cool thank you. I will do that then. I just didn't want to have to make 2 of the same item before I had an order for both. I will have the supplies on hand to make more though.

Just list them as made to order and you should be fine. I would also note in the listing that the images in the photos are samples and some or all of the items will be made after they're ordered.

I do that also, some customers may just want one part of the set , it works for me. I have listed as a set and offered just one item. Also split the set in different listings but copied and pasted the other parts in all the listings.
I think I just confused myself. But it does in fact work!

Should I list the different options if they want it customized in the made to order listing? The items have 2 different color choices I can do for the same price.

LaDonna, I would. Are you on the listing variations team? If so, you can include the options in your listing variations so the customer can choose their color easily before purchasing the item.

Yes it's allowed because you are still paying Etsy the $ .20 listing fee.
