I've newly dove back into Etsy with a new shop and newfound motivation to make my online business work. So far, though, it's been off to a slow start.
I don't know if it's my prices, what I'm offering, or what it is that isn't garnering much interest. My most popular listing is my shoes. Other than that, some of my stuff has gotten 0 views and it was posted days ago. I've gotten on average just 20-30 views a day on my shop front.
It's really hard for me to diversify my shop because I'm paying for a lot of this stuff out of pocket and I cannot afford it, especially with most of my money recently going towards family gifts for the holidays. But what are some ways that you got your shop to be successful? I could use the tips!

You need more items to sell, I think, and better tags. One word tags never really get attention unless they are something specific :)
Love the painting though ^^

your shop is only 3 days old and you only have 4 listings. i'm not sure what your expectations were, but it's not going to take off instantly. you've got to list more and promote if you want to see results.

Ditto Ruth! Also I found once I tweaked my tags and had matching phrases in tags, titles, item description and announcement that helped views. Tags are key! Look up similar items for ideas on tags. But for example I would never search just "stars" for an iPhone case. I'd search "unique iPhone case" "hand
Painted iPhone case", etc.

I like those tag ideas, Adele; I think I'll borrow those if you don't mind!

How are you promoting your shop? Opening on December 9 with only 4 items is not a set up for taking off.
Shipping without delivery confirmation will only serve to hurt you not your customer. Delivery confirmation covers you if your customers comes back and says they never received their package..... and that will happen at some point..

Thank you, Chestnut! Do you have any tips for financing a shop out of pocket?
And I know, Ruth. I wasn't expecting to have sales coming out of the woodwork immediately. But other people have had success early on, or at least a lot of views to their work, and I wanted tips. My last shop was a lot more successful at the beginning than this one is, views wise at least.

Laurie, how should I incorporate that? Into the shipping price as well, or offer it if the person wants it? I have it as an option in my shop policy.

Delivery Confirmation should never be left to the customer to decide if they want it. YOU want it on every package you send. Incorporate that into your shipping fees.
