But none of my favorite shops take DC! I'm sad.
Of course I can look around for something else - there are plenty of choices here, but some of the things I was eyeballing are unique to that shop - like a picture from one of my favorite artists here. I did ask her if she'd consider turning on DC, but apparently she has her reasons. :(
I'm sure I will still find something great, but I am having to look harder than I'd expected. I guess that's part of the fun.
Thanks to admin's recent candor, I am now heavily considering turning on Direct Checkout in my own shop. I would like to enjoy the preferential benefits myself.
Anyone have any advice on the pros and cons of launching DC? I haven't been paying much attention to it - I was never considering it, but recent events are making it appear like a necessity - and the sooner the better with all these gift cards floating around.

I like it. I have not had any problems with it thus far and it has brought in close to 50% of my sales now. Doesn't hurt to give customers more options-not to mention, if you don't like it, you can always turn it off. Best of Luck and enjoy spending that gift card! :)

I haven't had any issues with it. I would say about 70% of my sales come through DC! I would say its worth a shot, you never know if your missing out on some great sales. Happy New Year and good luck to ya!

I initially signed up for DC just in case someone asked to use it in my shops. (I turned it off as a payment choice once I applied so that it would be able to be switched on at a moment's notice.) Once we were able to purchase shipping from etsy, I turned it on. Shortly after that the wait time to receive payments went down. I still wish that we could pay for our shipping from our shop payment account instead of having it added to our bill and I would like to leave my money in that account until I choose to transfer it. It would also be nice to be able to pay our etsy bills from there. So all in all, it still needs work IMO. Some of my wishes may not be feasible due to banking laws but only time will tell.
In addition to the opinions you get in this thread, I encourage you to read about DC straight from etsy. You will find links to the TOU's on it and more here www.etsy.com/help?ref=si_help#/direct/checkout/1 .

Hey OP - I take DC and I can always become one of your favorite shops. I know...that was so blatant. But I had to. LOL!
Don't spend it all in one place! ;)

I love it and have never had any issues with it. My sales definitely increased when I started using it and some of my customers told me they really liked being able to check out without PayPal. Some folks have issues with them too so it's nice they have a choice.

I asked for and received and etsy Gift Card too!
I love Direct Check Out! I have it on all 3 of my etsy shops. I am still waiting to have my first Gift Card purchase from a customer. I am assuming it will say that when a buyer uses one.
