Same Style Shops Hearting

So I have noticed there are a few shops that have the same style of jewelry I make hearting and making very similar items. I am always thrilled to have hearts and love of my items but I hate when people heart my items then create something very similar. I have been here a long time and I too heart items but never try to duplicate what they do.
I like the fact that my items are very unique to me and my shop. I work really hard to come with designs and hate when others steal an idea I have had. There is nothing I can do really as they are not totally copying my ideas just resembleing them and I know it is somewhat so called flattering but...... not really! lol

Sorry but it happens. Some people can't come up with an original idea on their own.

It really is frustrating when you see that they have hearted only that style of work and are using all of the other shops for ideas!!! UGGHHH!!

Is the issue they start copying your designs? That I agree sounds frustrating.
But now you have me questioning who I have favorited. I am drawn to certain aesthetics. Now if I make something similar to that which I love will the person think I am copying/duplicating their work. I would hope that my work is different enough, but I would hate for someone to perceive that I was copying them.

OP, do you mean they didn't create the similar items until after they hearted your items? Or just that when you looked at who hearted you they had similar items?
ETA: Tara, I wonder the same thing. There are some successful bag shops that I absolutely love but I'm hesitant to heart their items for fear they'll think I'm trying to copy them.

I would not assume that they heart with the intention of copying-- or that they heart and copy even if the styles are similar. I will heart items and shops I like, even if they have a style similar to my own, just because I like them. Similarity in taste may account for similarity in items, unless you are talking about something really unique to you.

Well if they are making Steampunk stuff isn't it going to look similar since it is a certain style? Aka lots of gears on stuff.
