Last night I watched one of my regular shows and the theme throughout it dealt with the characters doing what they love. Like finding/creating a job that has the balance between making you happy, while still making you feel successful. Has anyone here ever dealt with that issues, or is currently dealing with it now. Honestly I get so envious of this exact issue whenever I read the QYDJ articles!
But thinking about it for me, I would have to say I have a very specific goal in mind...I'm just not too sure if it will ever come to fruition! lol
I would love to one day own my own tea shop/cafe/patisserie where I could bake scones and brew tea all day while chit chatting with customers and being surrounded by a cozy little cafe atmosphere. Then to satisfy my vintage love I would hold a little flea market outside every other saturdays where people can come and find their next vintage treasure! Oh, and since I'm dreaming I would love it to be on the main floor of some victorian house/cottage on the new england coast!
Dream away. :)

It may happen! My dream situation would be to make my shop work enough that I could just create all day (or night...I'm a bit of a night owl!) - don't mind where...just being creative. I regularly read/re-read QYDJ articles longing to be in that position!

I would like a craft store, all handmade of course, attached to a bead shop where people are welcome to come and bead/design together.

I'm all for doing what we love. They say it's a blessing if you love your job, that you can enjoy doing what you do as a job. It wouldn't feel like you are slaving your life away working a job just to pay the bills.
I'm actually in a scenario that I might have to give up my dream yet once again and get myself back to the rat race. I so enjoy creating and I know once I'm back on a job then I will not have the time and energy to do anything else, especially time. I feel kinda sad having to leave this behind...

Those all sound wonderful!
ArtLittle - That's exactly how they described it in the show...that people who love what they do and can make a living from it are so lucky and should cherish that they have found their 'calling'!

I dream of my shop bringing in enough to support my family and allowing me to quit my job and stay home with my son.
I would love some day for my husband to be able to quit his job and work on his woodwork full time. We dream of opening a shop in Door County, WI and living there during the summer running our shop and working in a studio up there. Then spending our winters in at home where we would create away to keep both our online and door shops full.

Yes very fortunate indeed, blessed. When I was in kindergarten, they put me in a classroom to draw and make posters for the school when my class was having a sing & play session. That image of me sitting there drawing away is just a mini version of what I am now today LOL =]
I enjoy what I do, it's my passion and soul but unfortunately I can't seem to be able to make a living doing what I love.

I would absolutely love it if I could run my Etsy shop full time and it be enough to pay the bills. I think that is just impossible though, because if I charged minimum wage per hour for my items they would be about three times the price they are now....so I make very little, so it can't pay the bills! So right now I am working towards that goal by working hard on my shop and learning to cut production time so that my hourly wage can go up.
I would also love to see my items in a retail shop one day. That would be so awesome!

My dream is being able to move to England, live off my photography and/or writing, never worry about how the bills are going to be paid again, and know that I can support my mom and sister if they need it. Yeah, I think that's my dream situation.

My big dream is to just make art and make a decent living from it. A private studio with huge windows and lots of light is part of that dream too :)
