Here is this weeks topic: What Inspiring Project is in the Works?
It doesn't have to relate to your shop nor do you have to necessarily be "making" something.
It just has to be a project you are inspired and excited about!
Tell us all about it!

Love the idea of a 'topic of the week'!
I think the most inspiring project I have going right now is the dress I'm making for my sister to wear for her university graduation. We used to loathe each other when we were little, but we've become really close over the past few years. It's exciting to get to make her feel special on such a big day!
Also, prepping for getting my first tattoo this summer, whooo!

To nudge this along...
The project that I am currently inspired by is getting a run/walk group together at my work. I Love to run and want to share its amazing benefits with those people I interact with most (i.e. my coworkers). Even though I'll be starting with just a handful of folks I hope to inspire others, of all fitness levels, to join us in getting healthier (and happier, too!). I'm a huge advocate for exercise no matter the persons capabilities. In the long run (oh my that's a terrible pun...) I'd love to see this group run/walk 5k & 10k races together!

Now that I live in CO, I am inspired to finally make the big metal belt buckles I've been thinking of making for 3 years.
I was a cyclist before I moved here to Bike City FoCo, and now that I etched a big old bicycle case--and sold it in a flash-- it will be one of my first buckles.
But I know once they're made, people will want leather belts to go with them.
Anyone making belts or know a source of good quality snap on belt straps, pass it on....

Mine is more of a personal "project" but does relate to handmade. Last week, I decided that I was going to take action to achieve my goal to teach jewelry making classes. I sent out emails to the local craft stores and to different recreation districts to see if any of them were in need of someone to teach. Well, it paid off and I have an interview tomorrow with one of the parks and rec districts. I'm very excited since it's an opportunity to teach at multiple rec centers in the area. I admit I'm a little scared as well thinking..."can I really do it"..."am I good enough..." But I know I can and I'm super excited!

My current project is to start a web site. I really wanted to do a crafts fair or farmers market but I will have to get ins. @ $200.00 - $300.00 (I might as well get the store front kind of ins. at that rate!) PLUS $50.00 for a 10 x 10 space and $70.00 for a tax ID. SO ~ I think that I will take this week off and redo my policies and profile here on Etsy. I will take the $400.00 and use that for the web site, advertising, and new listings here on Etsy.
I am not sure how to do advertising and hope that this week will give me a chance to figure that out.
I am supper bummed about the farmers market. But maybe this is what I needed. This way I can focus more on my store and moving forward with Etsy. I would love to hear what you think or know about advertising. It says that my shop is on vacation right now (but I am not) I just need time to think about my listings, policies and bio, also what I should change and keep.
