The tablecloth is a solid color to enable the color and texture of the food to be what draws the baby’s attention. Onto the tablecloth, in a contrasting color, is stitched a very simple outline designating where each needed item will rest: bowl, spoon, fork, glass. This will provide the child with a guide as he learns where to return each item after its use. (Although the adult will generally be the one modeling the use of these items, the little one is learning through his experience and taking in all the details!) To enhance the little ones possibility for success and lessen frustration, Velcro strips are attached to the underside of the tablecloth, offering stability. If possible, sitting at a small table and adhering the Velcro to the underside of the table is ideal.
The bib is constructed with a long fabric strap that reaches around the back of the baby's neck and fastens to the front of the bib with Velcro. This design enables the baby, from the very beginning, to begin learning to put on and take off his own bib, yet another accomplishment on his ever expanding list of ‘things I can do’.
Two napkins are included as learning how to wipe ones face and hands when dining is also a very necessary part of every meal!
A simple carrying case holds all of the items included in each Weaning Place Setting: carrying case, table cloth, bib, 2 napkins
Each Weaning Place Setting is unique - no two pattern combinations are the same. If you desire a particular color or pattern, convo me and we can arrange the details.
