When we stumbled across the European hemp linen grain sack used to create these pillows, it was love at first sight! Loaded with character and charm mainly because of the thrifty hand-sewn patches. It’s fun when you think about the farmer from years past who hand stitched these patches just to stretch the life of this utilitarian textile, never knowing that one day it would be used to create 2 beautiful pillows.
Each pillow is extremely soft from years of washing. The colors are a light ecru with red striping. They each measure 20” x 25”. They are loosely filled with fiber fill.
The fabric dates to the early 1900‘s and was utilized storing grains and would have been part of daily farm use thus giving the fabric characteristic spotting.
These pillows are being offered as a pair.
