Fortunately, Russel Wright designed plates with a slightly mottled gray glaze, with just a hint of a clear, clean blue. Heavenly.
In 1938, this Mr. Wright set upon rethinking the American table to make life easier. The resulting American Modern line was a colorful set of dishware in biomorphic shapes that, at the end of the day, just make food look good.
