An alternate illustration for page 501 of Herman Melville's novel 'Moby-Dick' from my "One Illustration For Every Page Of 'Moby-Dick'" project. It is the illustration for the line which Ahab speaks to the cabin boy Pip: "Come! I feel prouder leading thee by thy black hand, than though I grasped an Emperor's!"
This piece is acrylic paint on found paper and measures 6 inches by 9 inches. The drawing will be shipped in a mylar sheath and sandwiched between several boards for maximum security.
