Make screen prints on paper, cards and notebooks in this 3 hour workshop run by Xtina Lamb.

You'll be using the Japanese 'Print Gocco' machine and supplies to create screens from your own artwork, mounting the screen mesh onto a frame, and printing with a squeegee onto your choices of paper or stationery.

You can also choose the option of making a larger screen using Gocco mesh and a Thermofax machine, which eliminates the need for using Gocco bulbs.

WORKSHOP INCLUDES:
- Create and keep a postcard sized screen from your own artwork.
or create and keep an A5 screen made with Gocco mesh in a Thermofax machine.
(You can reuse these screens with regular screen printing supplies)
- Print onto pre-cut cards and exercise books
- Print on paper to make stationery, artworks or packaging etc.
- Compare Gocco machine models, the B6, PG-11, PG-Arts and stamp pad for cloth.
- Learn registration methods (lining up the position of prints)

Price includes homemade cake.
Class size is limited to 8 people.

On purchase you will be sent details of artwork to bring along.

Print Gocco is a small scale system for making short runs of prints. Gocco machine models such as the B6 and PG-11 are designed to make up to about 200 or 300 postcard sized prints inside the machine. But you can also use Gocco machines to expose screen mesh and then screen print outside the machine, as we will in this workshop.

Print Gocco was hugely popular in the 80s in Japan, where there is a tradition of hand making New Year’s cards. Now the rest of the world’s craft community has fallen in love with Gocco, but sadly just as the production of machines and supplies has stopped. It is hoped that another company will someday pick up production of the machines and consumables, but for now the future of Gocco is uncertain.

Join this workshop either to learn a different way to use your Gocco machine, or to catch a bit of history before they people who still own Gocco supplies start to keep them in a safe!
