The head of each croquet mallet is made of wool and cotton with a foam core for softness. The balls are made of solid wool to make them soft and suitable for indoor use. The wickets are made of cotton and wood, and they simply rest on the floor. Wood rings serve as a substitute for the two stakes in a standard croquet set. Play similar to the way you would outside, but feel free to put which ever colors you want together to make a team and sequence play by age with the youngest player going first. Then, progress through the six wickets, hitting the stake (the ring in this case) and progress back through each wicket in the opposite direction. Be the first player to hit the starting ring on your way back and you win!
For bocce ball, use only the wool balls and one wood ring. The wood ring is a substitute for the pallino in a standard bocce ball set. Be the player who throws his or her ball closest to the pallino and score a point. Be the first player to score 13 points, or another pre-determined number of points, and you win!
This set includes 4 croquet mallets (approx. 6 inches x 24 inches), 4 balls (approx 2 ½ inches in diameter), 6 wickets (approx. 7 inches tall with a 5 inch opening), and 2 wood rings (3 inches in diameter).
Please note that it is recommended to place the pallino ring rather than toss it if you have floors that could be damaged by tossing it.
As with all toys, children should be supervised during play.
