Introducing the Snowflake ornament/pendant.

Every year my mother would put a new ornament in our stockings, different but related ones, like two angels or two barn animals and two musical instruments. When we moved on, we had a nice pile of ornaments for our first Christmas trees, my sister and I. I have done that for my own kids, and my favorite thing to do is personalize it with the year and perhaps their name. That is what I was thinking about when I created these. I wanted to make them different but still similar. There is a subtle wash of color on these, just like the sky on a wintry day melting into the gray-blue horizon at twilight in December. And the message is whatever you want it to be.
This little snowflake design is already proving popular and it hasn't even snowed yet in Wisconsin! I can't keep them in stock, so I am switching to a CUSTOM made-to-order listing instead. Lots of choice here: you choose the color wash, you choose the message. (Note: the messages in the last picture are just for suggestion and to show how much space is available.)
What would your special snowflake message be for 2011? Just the year? Or perhaps a name? Maybe it is a special way to pop the question to the woman who lights up your life? Or a snippet of a poem or lyric from your favorite Christmas song? Maybe it is a tribute to the winter solstice? Whatever it is, I would love to give you a snowflake you can hold all season long.
