Truly a unique gift! Mugs with Bugs have been a customer favorite since the beginning of ESP Pottery. I made the first ones as a joke for my friends, but the leftovers were the hottest sellers at my next show. This season I gave the cockroach a makeover with a new design and new colors.
This year's cockroach is done in a new beautiful amber with a runny, crackle green overlap and an aqua blue interior. The legs and antennae are strong dacron to hold up to every day use. The cockroach design is my original mold, and the little flowers on the mug body are hand-carved.
This stoneware mug is large (4 inches round and 4 inches tall) for coffee or tea and has a big, comfortable handle. It is food safe and microwave safe, and I recommend gentle hand-washing. I've made the swirly-pattern bottom smooth to protect table surfaces.
Please note that the bug sits right where you or your friend would most likely drink from... I have done this on purpose. :) I've been told that having the bug on the opposite side is even more disturbing - It stares at you.
