The Wenge hardwood has a lovely dark chocolate espresso color with a beautiful grain. The lid is layered with a thick sheet of zinc that has been etched lightly, and has a lovely design created by French phrases of love and affection written in script. It was glazed a beautiful deep crimson red, and adorned with an antique skeleton key (please note that key may vary slightly from photo). The lid glides smoothly along a routed track and has a lovely weight to it.
