I was never lucky enough to meet Sally Meyerhoff before her tragic death- the closest I ever got was running in a marathon that she won in January. The Arizona running community is very small and tight knit however, and several of my good friends knew Sally and were devastated when she was killed earlier this year in a bike accident. A few weeks ago Susan Loken, 3 time USA Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier, 4 time USA Masters Marathon Champion, 3 time winner of the More Marathon in NYC, and a girlfriend of mine, asked if I would make a shirt to honor Sally and the Sally Meyerhoff Foundation. Of course I was more than happy to oblige.

-50% of the purchase price ($15) of every tank goes straight to the Sally Meyerhoff Foundation.
-In NOTES TO FIREDAUGHTER upon checkout, please indicate size: S, M, L, XL (Susan is obviously wearing a Small here)
-Also in NOTES TO FIREDAUGHTER please indicate if you would like hot pink or light pink.
-These burnout tanks are a-line, not slim cut, and have a racerback. They are meant to be
worn-in, vintage-like, imperfect...the perfect tank to work out or run around in.
-Like all of my shirts, I hand screenprint them one at a time, when ordered. Please allow a week before yours is shipped.

If you'd like to know more about Sally & Be Relentlessly Positive, the following is a tribute to Sally by Susan Loken:

Sally Meyerhoff was a rising star who inspired everyone around her and she was tragically taken from us this year in a bike accident at the young age of 27.

How do you make sense of it? How do you go on? How do you accept it? How do you keep the faith?

Sally became one of America’s top 10 marathon runners by “Being Relentlessly Positive”

Sally was a seven-time state high school track and field champion in the 1600 and 3200 meters by “Being Relentlessly Positive!”

Sally was an NCAA All American at Duke in cross country in 2004 and in track in 2006 and an Atlantic Coast Conference cross-country champion in 2004. Yup, you guessed it, because she was “Relentlessly Positive!”

Sally lived her dream of winning the PF Chang’s marathon in her home town . NOPE, it didn’t happen for her the first time she tried to win and it certainly didn’t help that she had a disappointing marathon in NYC right before she attempted to win this race again. However, Sally lived by her “Be Relentlessly Positive” motto everyday knowing that this was the secret to living life to the fullest and she because of that….Sally WON the PF Chang’s Marathon in her home town in January 2011!!

Sally not only inspired her friends, but also people who didn’t know her because of her infectious “Be Relentlessly Positive” attitude.

So, back to my original questions…How do you make sense of it? How do you go on? How do you accept it? How do you keep the faith?

If Sally were here she would say “Be Relentlessly Positive!”

Sally’s legacy will live on through her friends, family and everyone that chooses to live life to the fullest by “Being Relentlessly Positive!”

Thank you for touching my life Sally and I promise to "Be Relentlessly Positive" in everything I do.
