Ok, maybe not that last part. There will be competitions, though, and an element of chance. Plus lots and lots of fun as we count down the last few days until March 23 when the movie version of this amazing novel premieres!!!
With this purchase, you will receive a skein of yarn (100g) or a drum carded batt set (4oz). You can choose the yarn weight or if you prefer a smooth or chunky batt. I will dye the yarn or fiber for your package according to the Hunger Games inspiration you choose! You will also receive fun themed goodies in your package, so please let me know if you have any allergy issues as there may be food or fragrance involved.
Once all KAL/SAL purchases are in (I plan to leave them up until the end of Feb so I can ship in early March) I will order supplies and get dyeing. You will receive your package in the mail shortly after that! Then you can join in the fun at my Storied Yarns group on Ravelry.com to show off your fiber choice and your knitting/spinning. At the end of the Fiber-Along I will draw a prize winner from the list of people who spin or knit the contents of their packages.
Some ideas for inspiration:
- I already have existing colorways for Katniss, Peeta, Gale, Prim, Cinna, Haymitch and President Snow. I'm happy to dye one of these existing colorways for you OR you can choose another interpretation of one of these characters with the colors YOU choose.
- You can also choose other characters from the series, including the other Tributes, the members of the Districts, the Capital society, etc. I haven't tackled Effie, Portia, or Rue; those would be fun! But of course the final choice is yours.
- Another option is to choose a surprise colorway or to pick an interpretation that is more general, like a scene from the novel or a setting.

NOTE: I hand paint all of my yarns and fibers in my smoke-free, cat-friendly home. You will have the choice of Hunger Games inspirations for this KAL/SAL, and I will dye your yarns/fibers with colorfast acid dyes.
