This Gingerbread Kitchen clock ticks and has a lovely chime that rings on the hour and half-hour. Recently purchased--I have had it running for 3 days in a row and it comes with a key. It’s in very good condition.
The case appears to be oak and has a warm, golden tone. The finish is rubbed. The painting of grasses and flowers in a patterned vase is cottage-sweet . The clock was manufactured by the New Haven Clock Company. It is marked on the clock face and the fragment of label left on the back.
I have more pictures--just ask.
The former owner told me that this clock, along with the dark-colored one (pictured), belonged to his 90 year old mother and her twin sister for many years. Both of these clocks are for sale in my shop.

Gingerbread clocks were mass produced at the beginning of the industrial age into the 1920’s. The gingerbread design was metal pressed, not carved, into the wood. The gold paintings on glass covers were hand done. Called kitchen or mantle clocks, they were meant to sit on a shelf in the kitchen. Most of the clocks were produced in Connecticut--my reading turned up the interesting fact that many of these clocks found their way to Ireland.
