My embroidered necklaces use a lot of thread- sometimes as much as 600 m!- so I get lots of empty cardboard spools. I've been wanted to make something special, a fashion + environment statement and I must say I had lots of fun designing this bracelet!
The bracelet in the pics has each cardboard bead covered in a different silk cotton shade that has been interfaced, then machine embroidered with unique abstract motifs which were painted in different acrylic pearl colors on top of the embroidery. It will easily fit anyone as the beads are put together with elastic assorted trim. It will also make a cheerful decoration on any desk!
This would make the perfect gift for someone with strong personality who's considerate about the environment and loves to make a fashion statement!
