Panty Liner: One layer of super soft organic Canadian bamboo and one layer of organic cotton flannel. To be used on extra light days or just daily. Non irritating, unlike disposable panty liners. (3 by 9.5 inches; 7 by 24 cm) . Turned and topstitched.
Regular pad (variable flow): Now has TWO layers of organic Canadian bamboo, one full layer of organic cotton flannel, and one opened layer of flannel, to accommodate inserts. Totally customizable, no need to buy many different pads for different flow days.
(3.75 by 11 inches; 9cm by 28 cm). Turned and topstitched.
Insert 1: Has two layers of organic Canadian bamboo and one layer of zorb*, for maximum absorption. You can customize with as many inserts as needed. (3.25 by 10.5 inches; 8 by 27 cm) . The insert is serged .
Insert 2 for heavy days: Contains one layer of zorb sandwiched between two layers of quilted organic bamboo with a backing of fleece to repel wetness. This is a bulkier insert, with wings, to be used on heavier days.
*Zorb contains only tangled cellulose fibers from bamboo/cotton/viscose and poly micro fiber, the same fibers found in virtually every AIO diaper on the market – nothing else. These fibres are non-allergenic, durable and easy to sanitize . It is manufactured in Canada and the USA, in modern facilities that are safe & friendly for workers and the environment . Zorb absorbs 10x it's weight in less than half a second- that is 20x faster than cotton, bamboo or hemp. Zorb has incredible holding power too, a single layer holds up to 4 times the moisture of the best flannel.

If there is a yuck factor for you, like my mom had, I suggest trying a panty liner on your dry days, and a pad at the very end of your cycle. My mom was the ultimate skeptic, and is now a liner addict (as she no longer needs menstrual pads). She finds them so comfy soft and was amazed at the lack of odour. Then, as you fall in love, you can try to customize your pads for your heavier flow days. I recommend trying the pads at home first, until you find the right combination for you (in terms of leakage-as every woman's flow is different).
I dont use PUL on pads, to increase air flow. I can make some with PUL upon request, if you need a more leakproof pad, especially when you are out and about, for heavier days or at night).
Do they smell? They actually have much less odour than disposables, for the same reasons that the washable dipes have less odour (air flow, no plastics).
Disposable sanitary products can cause all kinds of irritations and have been linked to all kinds of problems (including toxic shock syndrome for tampons). Please do your own research, but I was alarmed.
Laundry: Keep your pads in a bag (see my wet bags) and after three days, just open the bag and throw in a wash. Do a prewash on warm first, to get most of the liquid out. If using for very low flow days or dry days, no need to prewash. Please be careful with detergents (see diaper section).
