Brigids time of year is early February, when the snowdrops begin to appear, pushing their heads through the snow of late winter.
There are many celebrations that exist in different guises, yet similar in essence, with which to honor her... For instance, the medieval holiday of Candlemas, celebrated February 2nd, inspired me to create this candle. The word Candlemas comes from the Latin word "festa candelarum" the festival of candles, and it is nt a coincidence that it falls on the Celtic celebration of Brigid, celebrated sundown February 1st to sundown February 2 and the feast day of Brigid the saint, February 1st.
Burn a Brigids candle when light and hope are needed, or to mark the advent of something new.
As she ushers in the light of early spring, and provides warmth in the cold dark time of winter, may she bring you brightness and new hope, akin to the meaning inherent in her name.
Pure beeswax, essential oils, botanicals, Irish flower essences I've made myself and sacred well water from Brigid's Well that I drew myself.
Pillar Candle is approximately 2 x 3" and arrives wrapped in botanical paper, tied with a handwritten tag.
