This is a limited edition clutch made from a found vintage Japanese kimono.
• Thick chocolate brown cowhide leather accent pieces on both sides
• Thick cotton canvas lining - canvas has been pre-washed and has a creased texture
• One of a kind vintage silk crepe Japanese kimono cloth body
• Measures 13.5" in height and 12.5" across when laid out flat
• Strong industrial zipper closure - zipper closure is 9" across with leather finishing on both sides
Please note that the placement of the pattern on your bag may vary from the picture as I cut from different parts of the kimono.
I started this company many years ago after having returned from India with a backpack full of sari silk. To this day I still lovingly gather textiles from around the world to use in my designs. NOMAD is a collection of accessories made from found limited edition textiles that I have sourced through my travels. These fabrics tell stories of their history and traditions. Natural dye processes, reminiscent of the dying vats of Japan and India. Vintage kimono's and sari's that speak of marketplaces of Rajasthan and Kyoto...I search for fabrics that speak of where they have been and celebrate diversity, culture and creativity.
As with all vintage textiles, age spots, pin marks, creases and many other imperfections can be found. I strive to work around these limitations but it is my belief that the one of a kind nature of these fabrics far outweigh these discrepancies. Please read over my shop policies before purchasing.
