Regardless, it’s old, lovely, and for me, evokes the quietude and contentment that seeing a band of horses always brings. The dealer I got it from thought it was from the 1930s dustbowl era, and the oval brass frame & convex bubble glass appear to support that.
:: Condition ::
The oval frame looks to be plated brass (great patina) with a stylized ormolu wheat grass accent at each end. The convex glass has a small bubble flaw near its middle; otherwise no scratches or chips.
The print itself is in need of some restoration; it appears something got under the glass & scratched it in a few places. The horse on the right has also apparently been through the briars, judging from the small puncture on his side!
:: Measurements ::
The framed print is approximately 14" high [36cm] and 20" wide [51cm].
Perfect for the horse lover or cowboy aficionado in your life!
