My sweet mother has Alzheimers and although she is "here" she is not "here" if you know what I mean. I had fun selecting items that are similar to what I remember seeing her wear in pictures and in my childhood. From the little 1940
Melony, your love for your mom comes through with every word you wrote. My mom is gone and I remember seeing her dress in clothes like these right down to the saddle shoes.
Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this special treasury.
What a memorable collection! I remember wearing saddle shoes! Those were definitely a 50s to 60s item. And the dresses, the colors.... those evoke those decades so well. Such things do indeed, keep our mothers close to the heart, whether "here" or not. :) Bless you for this touching treasury!
Thanks so much for adding my patriotic Napier to your wonderful memories. My father had the same problems 30 years ago. I WAS a 50s teenager. We used to wear saddle shoes then check them at the door on Saturday night when we went to the "Sock Hop"--no shoes allowed. Really had to scramble to get our own saddle shoes back when the dance was over. Great nostalgia! Thanks again.
What a beautiful tribute to your mother...I'm so glad you have such wonderful memories with her from days gone by. May they sustain you through the season she is in now. Thanks so much for including our vintage slip. God Bless!
