Alexander Gardens – Moscow

This is a detail shot of a rubble wall in the Alexander Gardens, which run the length of the western wall of the Kremlin. The Gardens were one of the first public parks in Moscow. I am fascinated by the fact that they not only used stone in the wall, but also used bits of frieze work and even pieces of columns to build the wall. Take a look – you’ll see the top of a column in there!

The image is 5 x 7 inches including a small white border for ease in framing. Listing is for the photograph only. It makes a especially dramatic impression matted out with a black mat. The second image shows what it would look like with a black mat, the third, with a white mat.
