This print measures 8.5"x6" and will be signed. It is made from a hand-carved linoleum block print, wood type, and a magnesium printing plate and was printed on high quality Canson Edition printmaking paper with a deckle edge.
Because the printing is done by hand each print is unique and color and impression may vary from print to print.
Here is a little bit more about my printing process:
I use linoleum because it is easier to carve than wood and it was often used in the early days of letterpress printing for illustrations. After designing the complete print by sketching a rough idea and then refining it on the computer, I print it out then transfer it to the linoleum blocks by tracing it over carbon paper. After that I carve the blocks with a standard set of linoleum cutting tools and then am ready to print on the press. The blocks are printed with oil based inks on a Vandercook proof press.
