Free Will and Time Machine

This assemblage was inspired by philosopher Henri Bergson's book on Time and Free Will. I used a doll arm reaching through rocky surface to represent humanity reaching for free will. I added words from the book on little tacks on the rocklike surface. On the bottom wheel I added a old typewriter tab that says Floating Shift. The wings are made from text from the book.
I mounted the work onto a antique hinge. I also used paint and inks to further embellish the work. Any questions about the process or my work please convo me!
The size is 9 by 5 and is ready to hang.
Almost all the materials are recycled, upcycled, repurposed and rescued, making this piece very eco-friendly!
