Skinny Love Bag...

Ah, Spring is coming! And this bag, inspired by the words and song of Bon Iver, is perfect for walks on the beach or through town as you shop. Big enough for all the stuff you just have to carry yet compact enough that it won't bust open while you're going about your business, it's nearly perfect (and I most likely only say nearly because I made it and I am NEVER. SATISFIED. PEOPLE!)...

Bag is made from a lightweight cotton canvas in off-white and the 'love' applique is from a vintage pillowcase. The applique has been attached with various machine stitches in brown and dark orange. It's also been outlined in a brown double machine-stitch, just so it stands out more. The two accents at the top of the bag are from some colorful cotton ticking and have been embellished with decorative stitching in orange. The bag is lined with unbleached muslin and the straps are industrial strength jute (made for lawn chairs, no less!) so they're strong enough to hold up to even the heaviest things you carry (laptop, books, and tons o' lip gloss, anyone?).
