The folks at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center in Mystic, CT were kind enough to let me come in and photograph their collection. This particular photograph is of native wetland plants encased in a block of polyurethane. Meant to be a hands-on learning tool for children, the block has received a bit of a beating, which shows in the surface imperfections that give it character and depth.
