Description

In 2006, Yee-Haw created this limited edition print exclusively for the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC. These hand-pulled letterpress/woodblock prints commemorate the The Société Anonyme: Modernism for America Exhibition that was organized by the Yale University Art Gallery.

This 30"x42" print is hand-pulled letterpress from hand set antique typography and hand carved wood blocks. Red and black inks are impressed into archival acid-free 100% cotton paper with a deckled edges. All participants in the exhibition are listed are in the small text around the middle X and include Katherine Dreier, Marcel Duchamp, ManRay, Josef Albers, Paul Gauguin, Francis Picabia, Joseph Stella, Pablo Piccasso and many many more extraordinary avant garde artists.

This is an amazing feat of typesetting by Kevin Bradley and is signed and numbered in an edition of 150. You can see the woodgrain in the X and the large typography and the listing of the artists is all hand set around the X in beautiful lead type.
