Scary Girl Earrings with Spider and Japanese Lantern

Scary Girl Earrings are constructed by Harriete Estel Berman from a Japanese anime Scary Girl lunch box. You can see the Japanese influence in the lantern on one earring.

I have been working with recycled tin cans for over 21 years. Though this material is diverted from its destiny as trash or recycling waste as post consumer material, I fabricate as carefully as if it were gold or silver.

These earrings are definitely one of a kind and my personal favorite. The asymmetrical design makes them even better.

The post is sterling silver. The top of the earring uses vintage steel doll house materials and a top layer of recycled tin cans. The earring length is 2 5/8 inches long. The oval is 2" long. Sterling silver rivets hold the multiple layers together.

The pendant part of the earring has a curved edge which makes this very lightweight earring very strong and rigid.

This particular lunch box is really cool and very hard to find. These one of kind earrings are inspired. They will make your day!
