FAUX CHEETAH Small Handmade LEATHER LOVERS KNOT Pierced Earrings - STERLING SILVER Posts and Clutch Backs - Adapt for BUTTONS

Now for the smallest of my three sets of "Lover's Knot" earrings in this faux animal print series. They're created from the same leathers—an exotic faux wildcat/cheetah/jaguar printed leather combined with smooth black leather. I produced these in the late 1980's and they've been carefully stored ever since.

Each earring is meticulously crafted to be the same size as the other—approximately 5/8" in diameter—and is a mirror image of its mate. Their appearance is that of an endless knot. Constructed of fine garment-grade "naked" aniline dyed* and printed leathers, they're light as a feather!

For pierced ears with sterling silver posts and clutch backs. I've signed each of the earrings on the reverse with my name and copyright symbol.

I'm in the process of making a selection of my leather knots into wonderful buttons for knitwear and hand-woven garments—or for whatever purposes you can think of to use them! They have snap backs and are removable for ease of laundering or dry-cleaning. I can't wait to get them carded and put them onto Etsy! Look for them under the title "Knot Your Basic Buttons™."

I have some absolutely gorgeous leathers in beautiful saturated colors like scarlet, saffron, teal, violet, fuchsia, and more—as well as gold, silver and copper metallics, reptile and other embossed textures, and surfaces I've hand painted that I've not made into earrings or buttons yet, but are ready to go! (*Aniline Dyed: Leather that has been dyed with aniline, a clear dye that permeates the entire hide. There is no pigment (paint) or finish put on pure aniline dyed leather to correct imperfections. That is why only the finest leathers can be used since they have to be of excellent quality. Pure aniline dyed leathers are known for their soft, natural feel as well as their beauty since they have no corrective finish. They are sometimes referred to as "naked" leather. This represents about five percent of all leather in the U.S. and is the softest of all commercially manufactured leathers.)
