Synaptic Cascade- ETCHING

Description

This is one of my favorite pieces! It has been in several shows in the Chicago area. It is an intaglio print. My motivation for this piece has to do with the idea of love as a romantic ideal verses a physiological phenomenon. While deep down, I am probably a romantic, I like to question our feelings when in love. How much is just a neurological reaction? Why does one person send us flying over another? Is this real?

The background is made up of neurotransmitters, while the foreground includes a man and woman in profile. The woman is filled with a beautiful floral pattern, and the man is arguably not all there; represented only with a line.

The print is part of an edition of 15, printed on arches buff paper with chine colle over entire image in a golden thai unryu paper.

Image size is 6x9 inches on 11 x14 inch paper.
Each print is signed and numbered.
