Orchid Show 2

Description

This lovely orchid was one of the countless contributors to the breathtaking beauty found at the New York City Botanical Garden annual orchid show (March-April, 2008). This event is staged in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory building, a picturesque, glass-covered structure that in effect creates a cluster of greenhouses in which the exquisite displays are grown/shown.

We (along with thousands of fellow avid shutterbugs!) walked into this venue accompanied by three digital cameras (between 2 people!), and unexpectedly went into a photographer's trance. Came out with over 600 photos of some portion of these gorgeous, mysterious flowers. They are so unusual in their structure and appearance, one almost feels that they are more "animal" than plant! This is the first of many more we intend to share with you.

Photos in our shop are printed on premium glossy paper with archival inks (convo if you prefer another type of paper for a particular item and we can modify), the price is based on a 5 x 7 in. print; 8 x 10 prints are available as a reserved listing for a slightly higher price.
