Miss Maybelle is known throughout the county for her home remedies. Her cough formula, in particular, is wildly popular. It's too bad she hasn't yet come up with an effective cure for baldness.

9"x11"x1.75". Dimensional collage featuring original antique photo (not scan). Background is print cotton fabric--white polka dots on a lemon yellow ground--embellished with white cotton-floss embroidery and irridescent yellow glass seed beads. Accents: miniature brown glass bottles with wooden stoppers and distressed "ingredient" tags. Quote from antique book: "For Coughs, Colds, etc.--Syrup of Morphia, three ounces; Syrup of Tar, three and a half ounces; Chloroform, one troy ounce; Glycerine, one troy ounce. Mix them. Dose, a teaspoonful three or four times a day." Finished on back. Painted, distressed, wood shadowbox frame is fitted to hang.
