LAVENDER SEED Embedded, Naturally Stained Oak Leaf Embossed Cards (set of 2)

From the "Scraped From the Barrel" collection, these 2 handmade paper oak leaf cards are made with lavender and have lavender seeds embedded in them. The oak leaves used to make these cards created a beautiful, completely natural patina. Fewer than 1 in 20 leaves do this, making these stained ones very rare.

I've been making handmade paper like this for ten years. I always use 100% post-consumer material except the seeds, but they come from lavender I grow myself. I collect the seeds in the fall.

Cards are about 5.5 x 4 inches rectangular. Both cards have two rough edges and two straight edges. They are as thick as your average card stock, but smooth inside and easy to write on with a pen.

Please note, these cards are handmade, not commercially printed, and so they have all of the subtle irregularities that make handmade items so lovely.

They do not come with envelopes, but if you would like them to have envelopes my standard charge is 25 cents for each Kraft paper envelope. I cut, fold, and glue them to order. Just contact me to add them to the listing BEFORE you purchase them.

Cards in this "Scraped from the Barrel" series are the artist's response to the aging of wine in oak barrels and the similarities between the Walla Walla Valley and Provence. Both are renowned for their lovely weather and fertile soil, as well as wine and lavender.
