These booklets are folded and stapled, black and white xerox on paper, with paper covers. Some booklets have cardstock covers with colored paper pages. Where indicated, covers, and covers only, are in full color. I am selling a process, not a product. The booklets are not the "thing", but rather house a virtual workshop using my process. The real "thing" is your own expression, guided by my assignments.

This artist book / mail art project that combines extreme visual journalism with unsent letters in the form of postcards, was designed as a warm up for our Extreme Visual Journaling retreat, but I think you will enjoy this on its own - it's almost like being there! This booklet has a full color cover- look at it - it's beautiful!

Welcome Distant Travelers: We begin this Pilgrimage with an exciting introduction to the Visual Journaling process by creating a Mexico Diario Postcard Book (a combination Visual Journal/artist book/mail art project) as a souvenir of the journey. Learn to create unique expressive postcards simply bound with binder clips(or your zutter, if you have one!) complete with Mexican postage, rubber stamped cancellations, to/from labels, and visual journaling assignments in the form of unsent letters like a wish you were here card from artist and fellow Journaler, Frida Kahlo. This wonderful book initiates us with a mixed media jam session designed to explore the rich interior of the self unencumbered by harsh critical voices from within. Once we are confident in using these exciting materials, freed from our limited beliefs of what an artist is, we will gently turn inward in our Visual Journal Diario through guided assignments that combine journal writing expressions with art making explorations. What better way to introduce yourself to your own personal mythology and discover how fun, easy and enriching the journey to the interior can be? Expand your creativity through process as opposed to product making. No prior art or writing experience necessary.
