Description

This is a detail image of a bridge in Redding, CA. The graceful curve and soft pastel light gives this image an otherworldly feeling that sticks with you. It's almost as though this is a bridge into another reality.

Dean was in town to photograph the Shasta County Municipal Building and was told of the Sundial Bridge and how wonderful it was. He took this with a grain of salt because he didn't expect anything truly spectacular in such an out-of-the-way place.

Dean was very pleasantly surprised to find one of the world's great engineering achievements spanning the Sacramento River. Santiago Calatrava is without a doubt a brilliant engineer and has created not only a wonderful bridge but a true work of art.

The strength and power of the design is incredible and will stand out as one of humanity's greatest achievements in both engineering and art. He is still surprised to find it in Redding, CA.
