The detacheable leather strap allows you to use this bag as a shoulder bag, wristlet or a pouch on its own.
It has a nice beaded handle for extra grip for opening the zip.
It would be useful for carrying your purse, cheque book, cell phones, passport etc. It does also carry a mini filofax.
You could also put your toiletories for flight etc, or strap it to your trousers on your waist.
