Doll Sized 1920's Red Work Quilt

Description

This beautiful redwork quilt is from the 1920's. It is a 4 square nursery rhyme themed quilt. A piece of feedsack was used for the backing of the quilt and if you hold it up to the light and look closely you can see some of the lettering on the inside. The photo is of Mary she is the lady who owned the quilt and the photo is from 1928. She and the quilt are from Battle Creek MI.

For the age of the quilt it is in great condition. The colors are still very vivid with no fading at all. There are a few spots on it but I have not tried to have it cleaned. It would make a beautiful and unique wall hanging quilt.

The quilt measures 17 1/2 inches square.
