The cotton yarn in this mitt is strong yet soft and will only get softer and more comfortable with use. It is machine-washable and dry-able. There will be some shrinkage the first time or two you wash it, but that should be minimal. Because it is knit, you might want to wash it in a gentler wash cycle but no special care is really needed.
