This is an original watercolor on white Arches "Hot Press" paper. If you are unfamiliar with this type of paper it has a smooth, velvety finish as opposed to the typical rough surface used in most watercolor paintings. This paper makes the colors show as incredibly vibrant.

This piece depicts stylized tulip-type flowers in a vibrant red color. They are set against a background of grey dots. The background has been left white so that the image seems to *pop* off the page. Also, one thing that I really love about this painting is that you can see the dots through the red of the flowers (because watercolor paints are translucent).

Overall this piece measures 4x6"--a very sweet size. It has 4 hand-torn edges and has a small white border all around for framing. This is also a standard size to fit in a store-bought frame.
