Luscious and pure, these beads are artfully made using a marvelous and relatively new method where a color or metal treatment is applied in thick, wrapped layers that resemble shards of melted glass or metal. These beauties are softly-shaped ovals with slightly pointed ends, combining several shades of mouthwatering turquoise with graceful overlays of shards mixing a palette of greys that go from palest dove grey to deepest gunmetal grey. Pristine white glows through here and there to balance light and dark. I've created a 3-in-1 necklace here; the 20", longer strand includes the lampwork beads, with faceted Blue Chalcedony ovals, tiny Turquoise Swarovski crystals and pure, health-promoting Hematite mini-barrels. The 17", shorter strand is elegant in its own right, alternating smaller Hematite barrels, Swarovski 4mm Turquoise crystals and 8mm Erinite crystals with gentle frosted aqua 8mm Swarovski glass pearls. This strand, too, has its own focal centerpiece: a beautiful Hematite pendant of a half sun / half moon face...substantial in weight and flawlessly rendered. Each delicate french wire earring -- using gunmetal grey ear wire and pin -- combines a tiny Swarovski 4mm Indicolite bicone, frosted aqua pearl, 8mm Indicolite bicone and one last tiny 4mm Turquoise bicone.
