Sewing Machine Necklace

Description

This little vintage Sewing Machine made of heavy gauge enameled metal was a real find for me. I hate to sell it since I count among the origins of much of my art an old sewing machine just like this one in a store room in the house I grew up in that my aunts used to earn their living in their teens. However, it is time for someone else to enjoy this little treasure.

The machine itself , which alas has no movable parts, is securely fastened to a lovely ribbon yarn necklace made by women who work at home and was purchased from the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The design on the side of the little machine is in colors which are picked up perfectly by the ribbon necklace which is fastened at the neck with a secure silver colored lobster clasp.

A definite gift for the inspirational sewer. Would make a perfect belated Mother's Day gift. Sorry I did not get it up earlier.
