Accumulated Propagation

Description

This drawing is part of a series that were made on our last road trip to SoCal. They way I approach these drawings is to begin them by letting the pen ride the surface of the paper - bouncing around like the car and it's passengers do. Basically the surface is left with what looks like a child's scribble - erratic lines and the outlines of what could become more solid forms.

I go back into the drawing and fill in the gaps (so to speak). I connect the lines and create the solid forms that I see emerging in the gaps. The result is much like my other drawings, but more linear and ironically more figurative - which I find to be a fascinating outcome and experiment. Color, when added adds a whole new dimension and really smooths and defines the forms within.

This is a 8.5" x 11" Giclee print of the original. The actual image is approximately 4" x 6". It is printed on the luscious Hahnemuele 306gm Fine Art Rag, resulting in stunning line quality and color saturation.

The archival quality of these prints is about 100 years.
The artwork is signed on the front.
